Be sure to refill your inner tank

Ever notice your internal resource tank? and how differently things go depending on whether it’s full or empty?

👉 You walk through the door after a long day.

👉 Someone interrupts you. The house is in chaos. There’s a last-minute ask from work.

🌱 When your tank is full, you respond with grace and groundedness.

🌡️ When your tank is low, even small challenges can tip you into snapping, shutting down, or feeling overwhelmed.

🔹 The difference isn’t about personality or willpower.

🔹 It’s about how resourced you are.

🔹 We all have a limited amount of internal fuel.

🔹 It gets depleted as we deal with the demands of daily life.

✨ But we can also refill it by proactively taking care of our needs: for joy, autonomy, knowing we matter and so on.

How?

🟢 Sometimes it's food or sleep.

🟣 Sometimes it’s a walk, a laugh, a dear friend, a boundary.

🔴 Sometimes, it’s as simple as remembering we have needs—and that they matter.

🧖‍♀️ My favourite refill? A swim and a jacuzzi.

💬 What’s yours? What helps you top up your tank when it’s running low?
